God has revealed Himself in nature and Scripture, and supremely in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we are invited into true freedom and family. The Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. It truthfully reveals to us knowledge about God, the world, and ourselves. This Word is our sole authority for faith and life. 1 As such we seek to be defined and directed by it.

There is one true God, personal, infinite, self-revealing, all powerful, all knowing, everywhere present, self-existent, sovereign, and eternal. God is righteous, holy, and redemptive. God is a trinity; one God existing in a perfect community of three eternal persons; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 3 In sum, He is utterly Good, totally Gracious, fully Great and supremely Glorious.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and King of creation. He is perfect both in His deity and also in His humanity, two natures united in one person. He lived a perfect, sinless life. He suffered and was crucified for our sins, buried, and rose again in bodily resurrection. He ascended into the heavens and will come again in glory. 4 All people everywhere are invited to surrender to him as both Lord (ie: Authority) and Savior (ie: The one in whom all happiness is found).

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who gifts and empowers us to accomplish Christ’s disciple-making purposes in the world and who manifests His presence to the world through Christ’s family, known as the church. 5

The universe and all that exists was created by God alone through the power of His Word, and as the theater of His own glory. He oversees what He has made, exercising His holy and wise government for moral ends. 6

Human beings, male and female, were created in the likeness and image of God; but are born sinners in rebellion against God. Humans are sinners by nature and by choice, in that all people default to living for themselves rather than God, and are therefore in need of a savior. 7

Salvation is God’s act accomplished by His grace alone, through faith alone, in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, whose death on the cross accomplished the redemption of sinners. Jesus died as our penal substitute and was raised victorious over death in His bodily resurrection. Salvation is past, present and future, in that we are saved from the penalty of sin, are being saved from the power of sin, and will be saved from the presence of sin upon Christ’s return. 8 The result of which is entrance into the new family of Jesus, now and forever.

The family is God’s gracious and loving creation for our protection, pleasure and partnership. Sex is God’s good gift and is to be enjoyed only within the covenant of marriage between a man and woman. It is intended for intimacy, pleasure and the gift of children. 9

We believe the church is the family of God sent by the Spirit of God to make disciples of the Son of God throughout all nations of the world. In other words, the church is the missionary community of those who’ve been adopted by grace, through faith into the family of God for which Jesus lived, died, rose and ascended. We are saved by God’s power for God’s purposes to bring him glory in all things wherever we live, work and play. The church is always being sent by God in love to accomplish his mission of revealing the freedom & family of Christ in hopes that others will receive that freedom and be adopted into that family, both for their good and the good of others. 10

Human society, government, culture and nations were created by God for our good, though all cultures are marred by sin and limited in authority. Christians seek to make the will of God supreme not only in our own lives, but also in the culture in which they live. In other words, we are to be salt and light and a city on a hill together to a broken world; an expression of the family of God, in the freedom of Christ, for all the world to see. 11

Both the saved and the lost will be resurrected: those who are saved unto the eternal life in the presence of God and His people, and those who are condemned to eternal separation from God and His people. 12
